• Welcome to the AJP blog!

Don't let the company name fool you. Andrea Jae Photography is actually a pair of best friends who strive to create fresh images and fun experiences for the people who invite us into their stories.

I'm Andrea, the main blogger, life sharer, and laughter lover. Renata is the detail shooter, pray-er, mother (of two!), and sanity keeper. We shoot every wedding and session together and wouldn't have it any other way.

Over the past year, we have come to realize that our first love is not photography. It's love. The reason we throw ourselves into our work is because photography allows us to communicate love tangibly. Through our pictures, we strive to share love and tell its story. We are the people who believe that love can actually change the world. We want to tell people about it. Photography enables us to do so.

Feel free to use the menu bar to find out more about us, see our work and say hello! Thanks for joining us in this little adventure we are so blessed to be on.

We’ve moved!

We are so excited to finally unveil our new blog! We’re leaving AJP behind and going forward with a new brand and site! Click on the new logo below to go to our new blog:

Amber & Colin :: DC Day After Session

It’s gotta just be Federal Triangle. Renata and I have met a couple, cold turkey, twice at Federal Triangle and hot dang, both of them were spectacular! Two years ago, Melissa & Ryan walked around the corner and this time, Amber & Colin came through the arches, decked out in wedding attire!

We literally could not have been more thrilled with this session. Surprisingly, we’ve never done a Day After session, which is a cleaner alternative to Trash the Dress.:)Amber & Colin were perfection. I’m totally not exaggerating.

Amber’s killer shoes? Kate Spade, of course!

I could’ve died after this shot. No, really. One of the best things about a Day After session is not worrying about getting the dress dirty!

Renata’s shot:

And mine:

Don’t even get me started on this light and the two of them…I will scream.:)

Couldn’t decide between the next two as my favorite:

Amber & Colin, I hope we portrayed this at the actual shoot, but we love you guys. Let’s do this again, please, please!:)

Ashby & Parker :: Maryland Wedding

Family. When it comes to weddings, family is an important part of the day. Alongside flowers, the dress, all the little details, the ceremony – yes, family is important. At Ashby & Parker’s wedding, however, family was central. Ashby’s family: her 3 sisters and their sweet memories of growing up on a farm, her parents hosting her day at their home. And Parker’s family: his brother’s awesome toast and his dad, when we approached him to compliment his family, simply smiling at his son and saying, Family is important. Ashby & Parker’s families mean everything to them; and we were honored to be there to help celebrate a new family beginning.

Renata and I had tried to guess what kind of dress Ashby would wear…and her dress from Priscilla of Boston was perfect:

So happy!

Parker was all smiles:

If you know me at all, you know this is one of my favorite moments:

A sweet candid right before family formals:

Ashby & her ladies – work it out!

Such a fun group!

We took portraits around Ashby’s family farm with beautiful light!

Special thanks to The Floral Studio for the gorgeous flowers and Santoni’s for a great reception.

First dance:

The toasts were great!

And I’ll end with this great shot of Ashby dancing with her mom:

Ashby & Parker, you two are just a pleasure to work with…and that’s an understatement! We wish you all the best, and then some!

Amanda & Gideon :: Baltimore Engagement

There’s nothing better than pulling up to a great location to meet a couple you’ve never met and finding out that they are some of the sweetest people ever! Amanda & Gideon provided that moment for us and we had a great sunset shoot with them in Federal Hill.

Sunlight perfection.

Amanda, you are beautiful!

City views don’t get much better than Federal Hill park!

At the very bench, at the very time of day that Gideon proposed – love it.

We waited around for the sun to completely set and it was so worth it!

Long exposures + sparklers. Yes.

Amanda & Gideon, we had such a great time with you! We know your wedding day will be beautiful and you will be blessed. All our best!
