We literally could not have been more thrilled with this session. Surprisingly, we’ve never done a Day After session, which is a cleaner alternative to Trash the Dress. Amber & Colin were perfection. I’m totally not exaggerating.

I could’ve died after this shot. No, really. One of the best things about a Day After session is not worrying about getting the dress dirty!

I read it a couple of times before turning over my shoulder to shriek at Drew who was sitting on the couch. “If you’re interested to participate”?! Renata came downstairs and we jumped around together, and then we called Alicia, who was in the mall and was trying not to look crazy in public. After all that, we submitted the photos and a few months later, here we are in The Knot: DC, MD, VA:

Two full spreads! And, we’d like to add, our wedding is featured right after a wedding by Miss J*. We are THRILLED. And that’s an intense understatement. To be published is great. To be published in The Knot is fantastic. To be published alongside one of your bookmarked photographers and to have the photo editor seek you out, well, I think you get the idea. Sure, lots of photographers get published all the time…but this is US. And we’re going to be as excited as we want.

Recently, we’ve been explaining our photography story and I just can’t believe how things fell together! The fact that I had a fantastic wedding photographer who was so willing to take me under her wing, meeting this girl, Renata being in the right place in her career and life, us being asked to shoot a wedding when we had no experience, the WONDERFUL clients that have come into our lives and their encouragement, not to mention the awesome vendors we get to work with every weekend.

This morning, I write this blog that will be posted on our blog and, subsequently, Facebook & Twitter. My 14 month old is busy watching Yo, Gabba Gabba! and I can hear Renata and the kids chattering upstairs. I have no idea how we got here. But we are so grateful.

Soon, we’ll be leaving this blog and the AJP brand behind. We’re really excited about our new blog and this year’s season! We just wanted to take a moment to have the moment. And say thank you. To you. We wouldn’t be here if not for you.
